Advanced Gum Disease Support

After a course of Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy, it is vital that the patient is placed on a Supportive Periodontal Therapy (SPT) regime because, if they have had advanced gum disease (periodontitis) in the past, they will require regular support to maintain gum health.

What does this therapy involve?

During an SPT appointment, the hygienists will remove any bacterial biofilm that has formed below gum level. They are experts at spotting risk areas and will be able to detect any areas of gum deterioration and offer advice to help re-establish gum tissue health.
